Santa's Helper

Thanks for a Wonderful 2016 Season

To all,

Santa and Mrs. Claus would like to express what a great Christmas season we had. We enjoyed visiting with each and every one of you. To all the families we were touched by, “Thank You” for letting us into your homes and for letting us be a part of the events you attended. To all the boys and girls we met, it was delightful talking to you. Your wishes and requests brought a smile to our faces and warmed our hearts. From the special requests of certain toys, to one child wanting a new kitchen for his mother, and others that said I have all I need, Mrs. Claus and I hope we were able to make most of your wishes come true. To the companies and organizations that included us in their events, we want to express a heartfelt, “Thank You”, Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. We look forward to being part of your events in 2017.

The Blaszynski Family

Dear Santa Robert,

I would like to thank you for the huge part that you and Mrs. Claus play in my daughters holiday season. For the last few years you both have been coming to our cookie exchange party as a secret visitor. When you walk in the door all eyes are on you, not just because of the red suit, but because you both personally have made a heartfelt impression on my girls and their friends. They LOVE how you take the time to listen to all the things they have to say, not just their wish list of toys. Continue reading

The Drake Oak Brook Hotel

My wife and I own the Drake Oak Brook Hotel. Last year we hired Bob and Carol as Santa and Mrs. Claus. The results speak for themselves. Last year we had 150 people show up. This year close to 700. All of this was through word of mouth. Bob and Carol were the best Santa and Mrs. Claus we have ever seen. The parents were thrilled. We can’t say enough in terms of how happy we are with their performance.

Everyone had rave reviews

rec1I have hosted 3 corporate / family holiday parties over the past 2 years and utilized the services of Robert W. Hildreth, aka “Santa” and Carol L. Hildreth, aka “Mrs. Claus”. After the 2015 party of 180 guests, there was no question that when I needed Santa for a party of 215 guests and 275 guests in 2016, that the pair would be my go-to for the North Pole.

The pair are warm, friendly and genuinely interested in bringing joy to children of all ages. They helped us distribute gifts to the employee’s children and spent time with each to make sure that they had the full Santa experience. This is not your average mall Santa. Robert has wonderful full real beard and an authentic wardrobe that rec2brings him into character.  All our photo opportunities came out delightful and were perfect for making holiday cards for distribution.
Many guests were delighted to see them again for the second year and amazingly, they remembered many of our guests as well and greeted them accordingly!

Santa & Mrs. Claus arrived ahead of time to get the layout of our event and when they were done with the photo opportunities in the Santa Living Room that we set up for them, they joined our party guests in the main dining room to engage with guests they did not meet earlier. Everyone had rave reviews and we look forward to future events with them.

A Night at the Barn

imagesOut by the field, just into the trees bare with early winter, stood a barn that no one owned. The grayness of the old, warped timbers spoke of its age, and the gravel on the road which fronted it seemed rarely used. If buildings had the magical ability of speech, it would tell of better days when it was the central focus of the small community, livestock to be auctioned tromping the amber hay within. Voices and bidding reached the wooden rafters in the peak, and a small fortune exchanged hands. But these days had faded into the abyss of obscurity, and it stood as a forgotten monument to what some would call better days. Continue reading

Ah Spring!

Hello All,

It is April 2nd and as I look out the window I can barely see the beautiful crocuses through the blizzard. Ah, Spring! Hopefully things will warm up and Mrs. Claus and I can get out on our red H.D. Triglide.

We are scheduled to be in the Hinsdale 4th of July parade. We don’t want to see snow! Global warming ?!? Children recognize us as we are out and about. We have our “Caught Being Good” wooden nickels handy.

Safe Travels to all!

Santa and Mrs. Claus

Spring is coming!

12235110_10205245470316525_4045516444541167705_nSpring is coming and we are looking forward to “visiting” Chicago area. Our red Harley Trike will be ready to ride. Look for the S Claus license plate. We plan on participating in some parades and revisiting some of the places we helped to celebrate Christmas.

Remember to keep that “giving” spirit going — kind words or little gifts mean a lot.

To all, a “Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Happy Easter”.

Never Stop Believing In Christmas!

Santa's Elf relaxes on an edge - 3D render.

When the children ask me, “Do you make all the toys?” I reply “NO, of course not. I am much too OLD a Spirit for all that work. My Elves make the toys.” Then I ask them if they know the names of my Elves? Well, there is Matt Tel, he’s my oldest Elf. He’s been with me the longest. And then there’s Has Bro. He’s the boss of the Elves. I like to call him “my little bro.” Then there are the twins Fisher & Price Elf. They’re mischievous little imps always playing tricks on Santa, and of course there is my Native American Elf; Ton Ka. He’s the biggest Elf of them all. Some say he’s so big he’s built like a Truck. Finally there’s my singing Elf Presley . . . Elfis Presley. He’s the favorite of Mrs. Claus. She likes to call him “the King of the Elves.” A few weeks ago I was working a photo shoot and I turned to this little elf that was working with me and I asked her what her name was. She told me her name was “Presley.” NO JOKE. The Universe sometimes catches me off-guard in this way.

I was once told that the older children were teasing a 12 year old child about Believing in Santa. I told her that you’re never too old to believe; that Christmas is not just something you can hold in your hand. Christmas is the warmth of love and giving; it’s having family around to share your time. Christmas is seeing the wonder of the season in a child’s eyes or the twinkle in a 90 year old woman when the lights on the tree are lit for the first time that season and the memories she has in her heart begin to stir. Christmas is a time of year that brings out the best in everyone.  You walk down the street and you say, “Hello, Merry Christmas” to a stranger.  When you see them smile it brings the warmth of Christmas to your heart. It is remembering someone who will be alone by taking them a plate of food, giving them a hug, and chatting a while. Christmas is making sure that those who are not as fortunate have some small gift to make them smile.

Remember the real reason for the season; the birth of the Christ Child in a humble stable so many years ago.  Thank God and Jesus for all you have.  Remember that Christmas is not about how much you spend or how many things you buy.

Never stop believing in Christmas, and the wonder it brings.  Letting a child believe in Santa is a gift you can give to all children.  If someone tells you there is no Santa Claus, just smile and nod— because you know the truth. If I didn’t believe I would not be a Santa myself.
